The Blackwell Grange Wedding Photography - Featuring my favourite images from this stunning wedding venue.
This venue has such an elegant feel to it. It consists of two barns – Thatch Barn which is where the ceremonies take place, and Orchard Barn where the parties are held. Thatch Barn is ancient – it’s been around since the 16th century – but it’s been beautifully restored especially for weddings and can seat 150 guests.
It still has the original oak beams but now it also has floor to ceiling windows and a huge fireplace with a copper canopy – it’s really atmospheric. I love taking photographs here because you can choose three different ways to light the barn – floor uplighters, beam lights and chandeliers. It makes for fab photos if you want to walk down the aisle with just the floor lights on.
Orchard Barn is more contemporary and one whole wall is made of glass. This means that natural light pours through so it’s perfect for getting great shots of you and your guests having fun at the wedding breakfast and evening reception.
There are three distinct sections to Orchard Barn – a stylish bar, a high-ceilinged dining area and a cosy little snug where guests can chill out, or you could even make the speeches up there! The whole place is full of really individual and stylish touches – like the bar stools made from tractor seats and the tree branch that supports the sink in the ladies’ toilet (I’ve been told!)
I’ve captured some stunning sunsets here and the surrounding countryside is really beautiful. There are also gorgeous lawned areas and a terrace where we can take photos or your guests can just mingle. It’s close to the pretty village of Tredington which has eight (yes, eight) churches if you’d like a religious ceremony.
The team at Blackwell Grange are super flexible. The Orchard Barn has been designed as a blank canvas for you to make your mark on, and the team will work with you to make sure it’s exactly as you want it.
The Grange has been in the family for many years and current owners, Didi and William, have their own caterers who will plan the menu in detail with you, both for the wedding breakfast and for more creative evening options. They’ve provided live food stations, wood-fired pizzas and barbecues at weddings and their experience in event management means that the service is as good as the food!
The team is on hand to help you arrange everything down to the very last detail.
