Emma and Sam - Tipically Inspired Wedding Photography

Emma and Sam’s Big Day – Nature, Raindrops, Sunshine and Tipis Galore

Like several clients, Emma found me online through social media with a simple search for a wedding photographer near her. I like to think she chose me based on my portfolio and the fact that she already knew precisely what she was looking for. From the very beginning, it was clear that Emma was a bride who knew exactly what she wanted (bonus!), and she had some very strong ideas that we were able to build on for her wedding photography.

Emma’s plans for her wedding day not only sounded like lots of fun but also gave me a clear vision to work with. It's always great as a photographer when you know that your style is exactly what the happy couple is looking for - and I was excited to create some brilliant images of their special day.

Emma and Sam had planned an intimate outdoor ceremony with a more casual, relaxed atmosphere where they could really be themselves when the celebrations took place with friends and family.

High Spirits and Bridal Prep

I always say that the bridesmaids have a massive impact on the atmosphere and feel of the wedding day. When I arrived to begin photographing the wedding prep, the atmosphere in the room was alive with what felt like hundreds of high-energy bridesmaids!  It was clear that everyone was ready for a great day of celebration, giving me a glimpse of exactly what the rest of the day held - absolute bedlam but brilliant fun!

The bridal prep was full of laughter, with a dash of champagne for good measure. It meant I could grab plenty of relaxed photos of the bride and her entourage before heading to the tipi wedding venue.

A Wedding Venue to remember

There is something magical about an outdoor wedding, and the venue that Emma and Sam had picked for their special day took full advantage of its location. The rolling hills of the surrounding countryside framed the guests perfectly, with the wedding tipis behind them. The stage was set for the big entrance that Emma had planned.

With their simple yet oh-so-effective bouquets, Emma’s bridesmaids, in the perfect shade of forest green, made their way across the grass. Then, all eyes turned to watch the bride make her way down the path to where Sam was waiting for her. The setting was beautiful, allowing me to capture some great wedding photos as Emma took her place beside Sam for their vows.

An Intimate Ceremony full of meaning

The small and intimate wedding ceremony was officiated over by a friend of the happy couple, something that I am seeing more frequently and am very keen on. It offers an altogether more friendly and engaging experience, and I always feel lucky to play a small part in it. There was laughter and a few tears during the ceremony, and plenty of opportunities to take some natural shots of the wedding party.

The party and drinks reception offered the perfect opportunity for the guests to mingle and laugh together, and everyone enjoyed the garden games that had been set out. The weather was stunning, in fact, the perfect feel-good weather.

The wedding breakfast was held under the shelter of the tipis, with the table decorated with a very natural, organic look that perfectly complemented the rest of the wedding. The round of speeches was met with both tears and laughter and was topped off with a surprise speech from the bride's sister—a moment that was not only incredibly special but also pretty emotional.

Sunset Photos To Treasure

With the sunlight glowing orange, we set off to capture some stunning sunset wedding photos of the happy couple-  exactly what Emma had been hoping for. The smoke bombs (yes, you did read that right!) that Emma had brought added a new dimension to our photoshoot, creating some fun images for the happy couple to treasure.

The sun had set, and everyone hit the dance floor. I knew the evening would be buzzing, and I was right. The eclectic mix of music gave way to some crazy dance displays. From country boot flying kicks to the coolest of dad dancing moves, this was a day full of fun, energy, and lovely people—the perfect celebration of Emma and Sam's love.

I really hope Emma and Sam love the wedding photography I captured as much as I loved taking it. Whether you have strong ideas about how you want your wedding photos to look, or you’re happy to be guided, I’d love to help capture your special day.
