Moreton in Marsh wedding photography – Katie and Raz’s Day
The Wedding Weavers - Moreton in Marsh
I frequently get the opportunity to capture wedding photography in the Cotswolds. And Katie and Raz’s wedding saw me heading to Moreton in Marsh to a fantastic new wedding venue The Wedding Weavers. A wonderfully rustic farm wedding venue.
Now there’s saying always the bridesmaid and never the bride and that was my experience of meeting Katie. As I have captured several weddings where Katie has been a bridesmaid. So, I was thrilled when she contacted me and asked me to photograph her wedding. I get a lot of my bookings through recommendations like this, which is always lovely as it feels like catching up with friends.
On the day, I headed to Katie’s parents house near in Stratford upon Avon, where Katie was getting ready with her bridal party. The atmosphere was buzzing from the start with lots of fun, storytelling, dancing and a magnum of champagne. And I got some really fun images of Katie and her bridal party (in co-ordinated PJ’s) getting ready and having the best time.

Katie’s transport was running late, and Katie (true to form) didn’t panic but just headed to the pub with her bridesmaids in tow, to enjoy a cheeky beer whilst waiting!
Raz and his grooms party looked very smart in traditional Sherwani jackets. The wedding ceremony was held outdoors with guests seated on hay bales each side of the aisle. It was a humanist wedding ceremony so felt really personal and emotional, everybody really engaged with it and there were some lovely readings. The end of the ceremony was marked by Raz opening a bottle of champagne with a sword, which took three attempts but he fina;y nade it !
After the ceremony, there was a fun confetti moment before everybody enjoyed a drinks and canapes reception outside. And I took my chance to get some great group images of the wedding party as well as some candid images of Katie and Raz’s guests playing table football, lawn games, enjoying live music and mingling with drinks from the free bar. The atmosphere was so fun and laidback.
It wasn’t long before things got silly and guests managed an impressive four-man/woman base human pyramid with Raz standing at the top for a second before they all tumbled to the ground. Thankfully nobody was hurt!
Storytelling wedding photography in Moreton in Marsh
The wedding reception was held inside with trestle tables laid out in rows. Guests were seated first so that Katie and Raz could receive a rapturous welcome from everyone. Speeches were before food which his always a good idea, speeches were both funny and emotional and very well received by the guests. This was followed by a meal of delicious Malaysian food.
Katie and Raz didn’t want too many couples portraits as they didn’t want to be torn away from their guests for too long. But I did manage to get them outside for 5 minutes to capture some great images of them. I chose a moment when the light was perfect and got some really great images of the pair.
Evening Fun at The Wedding Weavers
Evening celebrations started with the cutting of a delicious looking wedding cake followed by a first dance for Katie and Raz. Evening entertainment was in the form of an amazing soloist with a guitar who played amazing hi tempo mash up songs that everybody knew. He kept the dancefloor packed all night with guests dancing and singing along. And it was the images of everybody having the best time on the dancefloor that felt like the perfect images to close the story of Katie and Raz’s amazing wedding day.
A fantastically laid back, rustic, outdoorsy wedding for this amazing couple. Congratulations to Katie and Raz for getting married and creating such an amazing day. And thank you for allowing me to tell the story of it. I loved it!
