The The Mill Barns Wedding Photography - featuring my favourite images from this stunning venue.
I was lucky enough to be the second wedding photographer ever to photograph a wedding at The Mill Barns in Shropshire. It’s a perfect wedding venue as far as I’m concerned because it has loads of natural light and amazing oak beams that look stunning in photos.
I shoot several weddings a year there now – it’s a popular choice for couples and licensed for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. It’s purpose-built and consists of three huge oak framed barns, one for the ceremony, one for the drinks reception and The Mill Pond Barn for the wedding breakfast and party.
If the weather’s good, there’s plenty of space for a party and a barbecue outside – whatever you like. The team at The Mill Barns are super helpful so just ask them if you have something specific in mind.
All the barns overlook The Mill Pond – they almost look like they’re floating – and it’s a really good sized space, accommodating up to 170 people.
The civil ceremony takes place in The Mill Wheel Barn where the acoustics are excellent and the massive windows draw in plenty of light for the photos. If you choose to have an outdoor ceremony, there’s a stunning arch over The Terrace and I can stand on the other side of the water to get shots of you and your guests.
Or of course, you can have a church ceremony and transport all your guests back to the venue.
There are eight acres of grounds, including water features, landscaped gardens and a gorgeous boarded walkway across the water into the venue. There’s certainly no shortage of photo opportunities and lovely backdrops. It used to be the site of a 17th-century water mill, so it has a lot of history and it’s surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside.
