Foxtail Barns Wedding Photographer – Nat and Matt’s Day
Foxtail Barns is the most exciting new wedding venue in the Midlands. I’ve been wanting to capture wedding photography at Foxtail Barns ever since it opened two years ago, so when I got the call from Nat and Matt I was thrilled.
On the day, I got there nice and early so I could capture those all-important bridal preparation images. It was actually a sunny day which in Spring 2024 was an anomaly in itself! And if that wasn’t shock enough, I wasn’t prepared for the first impression Foxtail Barn’s makes when you arrive. It is the most idyllic location creating a real air of anticipation when you arrive.

Nat and her bridal party consisted of Nat, her mum, Matt’s mum and her three bridesmaids, had hired Foxtail Barn’s gorgeous Look Out room in their onsite Tawny Hotel. This spectacular room has a ceiling to floor front aspect window overlooking the stunning parkland and lake. It also has an indoor freestanding bath and an outdoor spa bath which proved to be lots of fun! The sun was shining and of course the atmosphere was electric. Really setting a fun vibe that lasted throughout the day. And having the room bathed in so much natural light really added something special to my bridal preparation images.
I also got the chance to catch up with Matt and his grooms party who downstairs in Lartington Hall’s pretty sunlit orangery where the wedding ceremony was taking place. The boys were in great spirits and looked very smart in tweed three-piece suits. By now, Nat was ready and looked stunning in a beautifully layered dress that gave her a real fairytale look. Her bridesmaids looked elegant in teal dresses. The bridal procession started with a groomsman acting as flower girl spreading petals along the aisle. It was so funny and really set the tone for a fun day. Nat was walked down the aisle by her dad.
There followed a lovely ceremony and whilst the register was signed one of the bridesmaids sang beautifully. The ceremony culminated in Nat and Matt walking back down the aisle a married couple to whoops of applause from their guests. Outside there was a fun confetti moment.
Storytelling wedding photography at Foxtail Barns
The weather was so good that everybody stayed outside and I took the chance to get some great group images in Foxtail Barn’s beautiful walled garden. The drinks reception took place on the sunny patio to live musical accompaniment. I love live music at weddings it really adds something special to the day. I got some great candid images of Nat and Matt’s guests enjoying themselves.
With guests happily catered for, I took the chance to whisk Nat and Mat away for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot. We travelled in style in a golf buggy! I was really pleased with the images I got, especially the ones I took of Nat and Matt by Foxtail Barn’s pretty bridge and serene lake.
The wedding reception was held in Foxtail Barn’s stunning Wedding Breakfast Barn that looked amazing all dressed and ready for guests. Guests were seated first so that Nat and Matt could receive a rapturous welcome. Speeches were before food which is always a good idea and were all very well received.
As if the sunshine, free bar and amazing venue weren’t enough, Nat’s dad arranged a fantastic surprise for after dessert and delighted everybody with singing waiters. They went down an absolute storm with guests up on their feet dancing and singing along. It was so much fun and I got some really fun images.
Creative and Natural Foxtail Barns wedding photography
After the wedding breakfast, guests happily milled about and explored Foxtail Barn enjoying exclusive use and I quickly whisked Nat and Matt outside to get some romantic sunset images. I got some really romantic images that I know they were thrilled with.
Evening celebrations started with first dance for Nat and Matt. Not that these guys were on alone on the dancefloor for long. Their guests were really up for a party and it wasn’t long before everybody was up. Live band Warning Tones played an amazing set and I got some brilliant dancefloor images.
With the dancefloor full it was time for me to take my leave. But before going I wanted the perfect last image. So, I whipped Nat and Matt outside to get an image of them under the stars, embracing under a fairy lit arbour. It was a gorgeous image and the perfect one to close their magical wedding day.
I had the best time capturing Nat and Matt’s fantastic wedding at Foxtail Barns. A lovely couple, fun guests, a stunning venue, sunshine, live music and the best food and drink. All the ingredients you need for the perfect wedding.
