Toy Story Wedding Photography
This time of year, I’m normally rushed off my feet with weddings. It’s my favourite time of year because the light is just perfect! And I find couple’s always have an extra spring in their step as everything is in full bloom and the birds are in song.
So being stuck in lockdown with the rest of the nation how could I continue my wedding photography?
As I got off the phone to Woody I couldn’t contain my excitement. I had a wedding to get to! Eek!
He told me that he had recently proposed to this amazing red head called Jessie and that they wanted to get married immediately. Could I help? Well how could I refuse?
With camera in hand, off I went to Budbrooke Church in Warwick. On the way I stopped off at Woody’s house. As he was getting ready for the big day, he chatted about how he’d fallen in love with Jessie. It was her excitable and brave characteristics that blew him away. After being friends for years it suddenly dawned on him that they were the perfect partnership and he couldn’t imagine his life without her.
As I took photographs of Woody and his best man Buzz, in front of the coolest car I’ve ever seen, I realised what a close partnership the two of them had. Buzz had something out of this world about him.
Being the Sheriff in town, Woody was a popular groom, so it was no surprise to see many guests at the ceremony. With no family, Jessie had asked Buzz to walk her down the aisle and he did this with such pride it made a few members of the congregation shed a tear.
At the end of the ceremony the guests got ready to shower the new Mr and Mrs Pride in confetti before heading off for the wedding breakfast.
Jessie had informed me that bluebells were her favourite flower, so I managed to sneak off with the couple to take some portrait photographs. It wasn’t long before I understood what Woody meant about Jessie – she really was adventurous. We soon found ourselves up in the trees. As some one who is scared of heights, at this point I insisted on getting a different setting for the couple – one where we could all relax a bit more. As Woody and Jessie sat in the field looking up, Woody whispered into her ear “reach for the sky”.
The first dance had Jessie, Woody and Buzz all up on the dancefloor together singing “you’ve got a friend in me” at the top of their lungs. The couple were generous hosts and the drinks were flowing all night. In true Jessie style, the party after the speeches was no usual celebration.
The couple decided that a pool party would be the best way of getting all of the guests involved. As I left the venue, I saw Mr Potato Head fully embracing the pool in style!
On my way home I reflected how lucky I am to do a job that I love. I really can’t wait to photograph my next wedding and to share such a special day with the next couple.
