Brooke and Harry Wariwck House Wedding - Binley Wedding Photography

A morning of big announcements

I hope you’ve got a G&T on ice lined up because I’ve got a gorgeous wedding to tell you all about today.

Brooke and Harry had their wedding reception at the lovely Warwick House, a venue I’m very familiar with. They’d booked me because they’d seen me work at a friend’s wedding – and you know how I love a personal recommendation! Warwick House is in Southam, so it’s perfectly handy for Leamington, Warwick, Rugby and Coventry couples, as well as guests travelling from further afield as it’s not far from the M40. It’s got quirky architecture, gorgeous grounds, and buckets of personality – a photographer’s dream!

Brooke and Harry also used my service ‘Vlog my Wedding’, which means that members of the wedding party record their own candid vlog footage throughout the day and I edit it seamlessly together into a natural, relaxed video which perfectly captures the atmosphere of the celebrations. It’s great for couples who want some moving-image memories without the formality of traditional wedding videos. When I went to drop off the vlog cameras the day before the wedding, Harry mentioned that he was watching the Liverpool final – and our bond was cemented! We tried our hardest not to talk about football throughout the whole wedding day, but a few mentions might have sneaked in here or there…

When I arrived for bridal prep on the morning of the wedding, Brooke’s preparations were well underway and her bridesmaids were in excellent spirits, getting pampered and made up and enjoying getting all those finishing touches ready. They were such a lively and inviting bunch, including me in jokes about the bridal undies and what surprises might be in store for Harry later (cue my blushes!) The whole gang were really excited and happy, and it was a fabulous joyful atmosphere to start the day.

Brooke had arranged for the company who made her dress to come and fit her dress. This meant that rather than revealing her beautiful bridal self to her dad, as is traditional, she got to do it three times over, to family and bridesmaids too! It’s such a magical moment when people see the bride in her dress for the first time, I just couldn’t get enough. By the time Brooke had gone through the process a few times, emotions were running high and the scene was set for the ceremony ahead.

I’d been warned that Brooke is notoriously late for everything, so as I trundled over to St Margaret’s Church, Binley, where the ceremony was to be held, I needn’t have worried about Harry’s reaction. He took it all in his stride! By the time Brooke arrived, many of her friends from St Margaret’s congregation were excitedly waiting to see her, so a full paparazzi welcome was enjoyed by all before Brooke headed into the church for her marriage to Harry.

The service was beautiful, and following the smiles and ‘I do’s, we all did the short journey through the Warwickshire countryside over to Warwick House for a generous drinks reception. One of the lovely things about May weddings is that there are long summer evenings to enjoy. The weather wasn’t on Brooke and Harry’s side to begin with, so the wedding guests headed into the warm interior of Warwick House for drinks and dinner, but after Harry and his best man had the whole room in stitches with their speeches and banter, the sun had peeped out and everyone was able to enjoy those last few hours of the day outdoors. The guests took full advantage of the peak in the weather and as the drinks continued to flow, one of Brook and Harry’s guests began belting out ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ with the bride and groom – a sight (and sound) I’ll never forget!

The sun had filled everyone with energy and so by the time it was time for dancing, the good cheer and excitement was very much in evidence and Brooke and Harry were hoisted into the air on several occasions – a precarious game but it all went down with no bruised bums to speak of! Some more food was definitely needed to soak up all the booze joy, and as I left I was delighted to see Harry doing a cracking job of fulfilling his husbandly duties and feeding his new bride a delicious slice of hot pizza.

Congratulations Brooke and Harry!
