Mythe Barn Wedding Photographer – Sarah and Karl’s Wedding Day. 

 

Mythe Barn is an idyllic wedding venue nestled in acres of beautiful Leicestershire countryside.  It consists of a series of beautiful oak beamed barns surrounded by fabulous gardens.  It seamlessly blends old world rustic world charm with clean contemporary design.  And its ceiling to floor windows and doors effortlessly link the indoor and outside spaces.  It really is a stunning Leicestershire wedding venue.  

But I’m getting ahead of myself, I’ll talk about all the reasons why I love capturing wedding photography at Mythe Barn later.  Let’s start at the beginning of Sarah and Karl’s day.  

On the day, I headed straight to Mythe Barn to catch up with Sarah and her bridal party who were getting ready in The Gallery which is Mythe Barn’s spacious and light bridal area.  I say bridal party but it was more like an army of bridesmaids and flower girls.  

Bridal prep for me is not about taking pictures of lipstick being applied or capturing an image of the dresses being hung up, but about capturing the fun and emotion the morning brings.   The laughter, the anticipation of the day ahead and all the tears of joy and emotion really suit my stye of storytelling wedding photography.  There were also olives to snack on and a bit of bubbly to get the celebrations started.  Sarah and her crew were so much fun and I captured some amazing images.

I also looked in on Karl and his grooms party, who true to grooms party form, took five minutes to get ready but another thirty minutes figuring out how to fix the button holes on.  So, if you’re reading this and getting married soon, make sure you practise before the big day as nobody can ever do it!  Karl and his grooms party all looked very smart in light grey three-piece tweed suits.  

With button holes firmly in place I headed back to Sarah.  Sarah was ready now but wanted to do a big reveal to her bridesmaids so asked me to help do up her dress.  Not only am I an experienced Leicestershire wedding photographer, but I am also an expert at wedding dress fastenings.  

We started with a sweet father seeing the bride moment.  Which was followed by Sarah, her dad and her mum all taking a swig of whisky from a hipflask before leaving for the ceremony.  Then we did the unveiling to the bridesmaids and flower girls.   And I captured the moment perfectly.  

I headed down to Mythe Barn’s beautiful oak barn ceremony room to find guests seated and Karl nervously pacing around and chatting to guests to stop his emotions from getting the better of him.  The bridal procession consisted of three flower girls, a page boy, three bridesmaids and then Sarah who was walked down the aisle by her dad. 

 

Storytelling wedding photography at Mythe Barn

It was a wonderfully personal and emotional ceremony with tears of joy and laughter.  Barns can be dark spaces, but one of the many things I love about capturing wedding photography at Mythe Barn, is the natural light that floods in through the ceiling to floor windows.  Light that I played to create even more beautiful images of Sarah and Karl’s ceremony.  Us Leicestershire wedding photographers are total geeks when it comes to getting excited about light.  The ceremony was a delight to capture and when Sarah and Karl were pronounced husband and wife there was spontaneous applause.  After the ceremony, there was a fun confetti moment outside.  Here, take a look! 

An elegant drinks and canapes reception was held in the Cart Barn and as the weather was good, I took the chance to take some group photos outside.  I love drinks receptions as it’s a point in the wedding when guests excitedly mingle, catch up and congratulate the couple.  Creating the perfect conditions for me to capture candid images of guests enjoying themselves.  

The wedding breakfast was held in the breathtaking Grain Store.  This contemporary yet elegant barn boasts floor to ceiling windows that offer far-reaching views across the garden and countryside beyond.  But also flood the space with natural light.  There I go about light again!

Tables had been dressed in crisp white linen with pretty floral arrangements and candles.  It all looked so elegant.  Guests enjoyed a sumptuous wedding breakfast followed by some very well received speeches. 

Afterwards, as guests milled about enjoying exclusive use of Mythe Barn.  I quickly whisked Sarah and Karl away for a few minutes to for a mini photoshoot around the beautiful grounds of Mythe Barn.  It was the golden hour when the sun is at its lowest giving images a soft glowing haze.  I got some lovely sunset images that I know Sarah and Karl are thrilled with.  Here, take a look! 

 

Natural and Creative Mythe Barn wedding photography

Evening celebrations started with the cutting of a delicious looking white three-tiered wedding cake.  This was followed by a romantic first dance.  Not that Sarah and Karl were on the dancefloor alone for long.  Their guests were really up for a party and there were some enthusiastic moves on the dancefloor.  I braved the dancefloor myself to get some great images.  And with the bar in full flow, tasty fresh pizza served in the courtyard and the DJ playing crowd pleasing tunes. Sarah and Karl’s wedding had everything it needed for an epic evening party.  

I loved capturing Sarah and Karl’s wedding at Mythe Barn.  A joyous family-friendly wedding full of love and laughter.  Congratulations guys and thank you for having me there.  I hope my images will enable you to relive it again and again for many years to come.
