Warwick Castle Wedding Photographer – Alina and Lyn’s Day
Bridal prep in Warwick
I first met Alina at a wedding fair and it wasn’t long before we were talking all things Warwick as she lives just outside the castle walls. Alina booked me as she liked the fact that I was familiar with capturing Warwick Castle wedding photography and because she likes my relaxed documentary style of photography.
On the day, I headed to Alin and Lyn’s apartment to get those all-important bridal preparation images. I found Alina in the capable hands of her two bridesmaids. The three girls were in great spirits and sporting some great co-ordinated PJ’s.
There was also some champagne on hand to get the celebrations started. Alina confessed to me that she’s never been much of a drinker but Lyn introduced her to champagne and she’s never looked back. It turned out, she just didn’t like the cheaper drinks!
Warwick Castle Wedding Photography
After getting some great images, I headed for Warwick Castle to catch up with Lyn and his groom’s party. The guys were really chilled and looked very smart in petrol blue suits. I also got some great images of the castle set against the pure blue sky.
Alina had a fairytale bride look that was so fitting for a castle wedding. And she beamed all day. Alina’s two bridesmaids looked elegant in red dresses. The bridal party travelled to the castle in a horse drawn carriage which just added to the enchanting feel of this very English style wedding. And with Alina’s family having travelled from Romania and some of Lyn’s family having travelled from Australia, it was great to treat them to a such a traditional English wedding day in full sunshine.
The wedding ceremony was held in the impressive Great Hall. With its displays of armour, checker board floor and vaulted ceiling, it made a stunning location for a wedding ceremony. Afterwards, Alina and Lyn walked back down the aisle a married couple to applause from all of their guests.
Time for Drinks at Warwick Castle
Then everybody made their way to Warwick Castle’s famous peacock garden for an outdoor drinks and canapes reception, with Alina and Lyn travelling in style in the horse drawn carriage. They were then welcomed on arrival with a fun confetti moment.
The sun shone and the atmosphere was so laid back and chilled which I know is precise what Alina and Lyn wanted. I took the chance to get a few group images as well as lots of candid images of guests happily mingling and enjoying themselves. A few of the peacocks did make an appearance and it was fun watching guests trying to get selfies with them.
Both Lyn and his best man gave emotional and funny speeches in the garden, before everybody headed indoors for the wedding breakfast.
Party in Warwick Castle
Evening celebrations started with a fun first dance for Alina and Lyn, who found themselves quickly joined on the dancefloor for the second dance as their guests were really up for a party. Alina then surprised Lyn with a traditional Romanian dance performed by her and her friends that really wowed everybody.
By now, it was the golden hour, just before the sunsets and the light was exquisite. Alina and Lyn were clear they didn’t want too many images of just them but they allowed me to whisk them outside for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot around the castle grounds. The images I got were lovely. Here, take a look!
When we returned to the party, guests had filtered outdoors to enjoy the sunset and some tasty evening food. And I got some fun candid images that really suited my relaxed style of documentary wedding photography.
With the sun now set, I took some stylish images of Alina and Lyn popping champagne (Formula One style) that produced my favourite images of the day. Here, take a look!
With it dark outside, guests headed back to the dancefloor and Alina stayed true to her word, and remained dancing for the rest of the night. The dancefloor was busy and I got some great dancefloor images.
A joyous Warwick Castle wedding full of love and laughter. Congratulations to Alina and Lyn for getting married and thank you for allowing me to tell the story of it. I hope my images will allow you to relive it again and again for many years to come.
